Writing with the heart of a teacher with Carla Gasser

Conversations on culture, faith & writing with host Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young

We are so excited to continue our new monthly feature for The Redbud Hyphen. Redbud President Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young will be hosting conversations with writers, agents, editors and publishers about the intersection of culture, faith and writing. We hope you will enjoy listening in on these conversations and learning alongside us.

This month’s interview is with Redbud Communications Director Carla Gasser, who has been communicating for more than twenty years. She is a published author, professional speaker, personal blogger, and a certified color and style specialist. She published an illustrated devotional Bible study, “The Beauty of an Uncluttered Soul,” with Bethany House (January 5, 2021) and released the revised and expanded version of this book with an inductive study guide in March 2024.

In this conversation we talk about:

-speaking and teaching as an avenue into writing

-not despising our small beginnings

-traditional publishing vs. hybrid and self-publishing

-the value of collaboration

-color analysis

-beauty both inside and out

Connect with Carla and check out her new book here.
