Beautiful words, Sarah, and so timely as I just read St. Teresa’s words on the Prayer of Recollection earlier this week. Twice in one week—I’m listening Lord! I’ve come to realize that much of what I invite women to practice through the guided structures in my journals, Rise: A Journal for Perseverance and Rest: A Journal for Lament, are moments for them to practice this very thing. It’s helpful to have more language around it.
Sarah, this was so inviting and needed today! I'm taking time for listening prayer before diving into my week and all the to-do's. Thank you for sharing these scriptures and prayers to settle my spirit. I can also perfectly imagine the San Diego sights you described! ;)
Sarah, this is beautifully written and I resonate so much as I often have an overactive mind. I love the phrase “…God, gather me now…” I will keep that one at the ready when I need to recenter in the weeks to come.

I'm so glad it resonated with you, Dorina! And I think I'm going to have to borrow your idea or praying before my weekly to-do list!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you found that phrase helpful (that's the prayer I turn to most often!)
